Dr Ramon Pacheco Pardo is a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at King’s College London and Co-director of the London Asia Pacific for Social Science (LACP). He is also Korea Foundation Korea-Europe Next Generation Policy Expert, Committee Member of CSCAP EU and Chair of the King’s College London East and Southeast Asia Community of Practice. His main areas of research include East Asia’s international relations and political economy, EU-East Asia relations, and the political economy of finance – all topics on which he has published widely. His most recent book is North Korea-US Relations under Kim Jong Il: The Quest for Normalization?, translated into Korean in 2016. Dr Pacheco Pardo appears in the media frequently to discuss East Asian affairs, EU- and UK-East Asian relations, and European politics. He has testified on EU-North Korea engagement at the European Parliament. Dr Pacheco Pardo holds a PhD in International Relations from the LSE.
